They used to do on the day off, but again they used to call snow days on the day off,. but parents now are so insane that they have to call them the day before, so I think if we do have a early release it will be the day before. I am praying to all the Gods that we have school tomorrow and Friday. I have to go to the office now, FCPS doesn't understand that they are making us go in the office now.

Do you know who also has to go in? Everyone who works in school buildings.

You’ll live.

LOL CLOSED It doesn't even start snwoing till 3pm. 2 HOUR EARLY RELEASE WOULD'VE BEEN FINE. FCPS IS A A JOKE AND WILL BE. THEY WON'T GO TO SCHOOL ALL WEEK. THIS IS A JOKE.

Good choice going with a letter- when they receive it 3-5 days from now it’ll really have some impact on their decision-making.

Your return to the office has no bearing on the decision FCPS will make which is based on the safety of 185,000 students. Get a grip.

Early releases are announced same day. How they affect buses and kiss n ride? You pick your kid up 2 hours earlier or they ride home 2 hrs earlier. How do you not understand that?

Also there have been early release days announced ahead of time for teacher planning. It works the same way.

It might be a closure, it might be an on time dismissal with cancellation of after school activities/sports, it might be the elusive unannounced 2-3 hour early release and hopefully SACC will be available for ES until normal dismissal. And yes, we should be getting some decent melting by Thursday so hopefully they can go on a 2 hour delay by that point.

I have no hope they will open this week.

Omg speaking of freak outs.
Have you not read multiple posts explaining why fcps rarely does early releases?

When I went to school we had them. 1990s. But now somehow we can't have them...... We need to be closed for the week. Like why?
