Yes. I blame Biden. He didn’t come down hard enough. Heck even his own EOP offices were TW more than we were. He let agencies get away with hardly complying with RTO and well here we are.

Yeah, if Biden had ordered us back five days per week then Trump wouldn’t have been able to do anything. Good thinking PP.

No-had he held agency heads more accountable with enforcing RTO, he wouldn’t have invited the scrutiny that then unfolded in Congress when his cabinet members would testify and could not articulate percentages of staff back in the office and we were slow walking RTO. Returning agencies to 2019 levels maybe would have staved off the scrutiny that then resulted in ridiculous reports like the House oversight report about 6% in person. He let this unravel to the point where Congress got fed up with the non-answers, got into trump’s ear and now this.

The purpose of this memo is to reduce the workforce, not a RTO. If Feds were at the office at 2019 levels, Republicans would latch onto something else to punish Feds. This is not Biden’s fault.

I live 10min from my agency. With full time in office and no option to ever TW, I will be taking my lunch at home, maybe fit in a quick workout, enjoying some fresh air before returning to the office to finish out the rest of my day. I’ll shift my hours to be super early so I can leave at 4 so I get my afternoons back, uninterrupted without the need to check email, hop on last min calls, etc. I have spent the past five years working around the clock doing whatever needs to get down during whatever hours necessary and with this announcement- that all ends. Goodbye TW. Hello work at duty station only.

I'm with you!

+1000 Maybe I would once in a while but not when a sandwich is $16. Id rather boycott.

I go for a 1 hr run when I’m at the office, work 9-6 rather than 9-530.

Pickleball while teleworking is just a lunch break.

I'm tired of Democrats getting blamed because Republicans are cruel. Republicans have been attacking feds.for decades, Biden isn't responsible for this.

Agree. Plus it isn’t like other sectors aren’t teleworking. I know tons of remote and telework people who work with private companies.

Agree. I will be the only one going in full time. Most of my private sector neighbors cant fathom my current 3 times a week in the office.

Really? How would that have mattered at all when Congress attacked telework by making the bogus claim that only 6% of gov employees worked in the office? They actually believed that uniformed armed services, intelligence officers, and Navy captains were working remotely. We could have been 80% in office and that lie would still be told.

Not OP, but presumably they were watching OPM's web page or RSS feed: https://chcoc.gov/transmittals

Anonymous wrote:My supervisor said he is going to try to take the position that full yime in the office is whatever it was pre-COVID (for us, one day per week WFH). I don’t know if that will work, but I appreciate him trying.

Pre-COVID I was 100% telework eligible and they were trying to incentive those of us who were eligible but still in office to take it because they were running out of office space.

So unless they can build a new building super fast, it's not going to work.

Same. Every person on my team is 100% remote and we are all over the country. So I am assuming I’d have to come to the closest army base and work from there, even though it will still be technically a remote work. How bizarre.

I’ll quit and go back to contracting. It’s more money and frankly - less of a workload.

You can’t work at another agency’s office. Typically it’s only done within agencies because they pay for the office space. So if you’re USDA, you need to work at a USDA office and not an Army office.

Well. My agency only has one location. And I’m 350 miles away
