Governor’s budget proposal to include tax cuts and ‘growth agenda’ spending

Moore: 82% of people will see a cut or no change in taxes; corporate tax rate would also be cut

but yet my taxes will go up plus a surcharge on capital gains. They just love losing wealthy residents to VA. At some point, who will stay? There is zero incentive to stay in MD when VA is 5 min from my house.

I don't think the governor's budget proposal should be based on your personal preferences. If you want to move to Virginia, then move.

people can't complain about poor policy? We are one of the least competitive states from a tax standpoint and business standpoint. Nothing else matters if we don't have economic growth.

Well MD idiots elected this idiot so you get what you asked for.

VA is better for business.

Maryland unfortunately seems obsessed with repeating California’s mistakes.

Maryland isn’t California and has none of its beauty, top colleges or tech industry.

I actually think Maryland is more beautiful than brown, barren California other than the Yosemite like areas. Where people live in CA is not attractive. Even the coast is not great.

But yeah… liberal mental illness cannot be in leadership. It’s just too mentally weak and flawed.

California’s beaches look immaculate compared to a depressing city like Ocean City, with rednecks and dirty water. Go to Laguna Beach and Encinitas and then report back. California’s beaches from Northern San Diego to Santa Monica are the best in the country. What are you smoking?

Waters way dirtier in CA. Sewage runs into the water during rainstorms and makes surfers sick.

This tax is dumb. I've been thinking of making the move to northern VA or to FL and this will probably tip me to move.

+1 CA has nice beaches. Are they all nice? No. But, definitely nicer than MD beaches.

Also, a quarter of CA is very green, ie, the Redwood forest. ^PP needs to look at a topography map of CA.

CA has desert, forest, mountain (great skiing in the Sierras) and beaches. It has amazing weather. If I had a ton of money, I would still live in CA. Alas, I'm not wealthy enough and got priced out of the housing market. But, I'd go back in a heartbeat if I became uber wealthy. My parents still live there, and we are going back this summer.

Both California and Maryland are beautiful.

Now, can we get back to discussing Maryland’s taxes?

No, because PP’s post that California isn’t as beautiful as Maryland and has an unattractive coastline is literally the most ignorant post in DCUM history.

Anonymous wrote:I thought this was interesting. It's from the Maryland Board of Revenue Estimates. It shows why they are projecting a $240 million revenue write-down, mostly from income taxes, but has some good information on how the federal lay offs, broken contracts, and frozen grants will also impact Maryland.

Southern Maryland counties have a larger percentage of their total income tax revenue coming from federal employees. I wonder how many of them are feeling right now, since Charles, Calvert, and St. Mary's voted overwhelmingly for Trump.

this post needs to go on the Politics forum thread "MAGA who FAFO".
