I need to know more about this story. How did they get in the store? Did they get past the membership card checkers??
They don't have guns. You just walk past them.
The employees at my local Costco (Leesburg) are VERY forceful. They take their jobs seriously. The receipt checkers at the exit, too.
So they have tackled you when you tried to leave without getting your receipt checked? Or did they raise their voices?

Not there but I will report that I bought the Dyson that Costco carries a few months ago and it is awesome.

We have a stand alone freezer in the basement. I don’t buy many pantry staples from Costco because I one, don’t have the space, and two, could never use 50lbs of flour or beans or whatever before it went bad.

The closest Aldi to me is 30 minutes away with no traffic. I have no idea where the closest Walmart is and I dislike starbuck’s k cups immensely anyway.

Yes. I have a second standard fridge/freezer in the basement (the old one from our kitchen; not a deep freezer) and we also have a long wall of shelving where we keep extra non perishables we eat regularly (cereals, canned goods, oils, dressing, baking supplies, etc.) as well as tp/paper towels/napkins and cleaning supplies.
Same. Our kitchen has a pretty small fridge and pantry, so we have a second fridge/freezer in the basement with a set of shelves.
Household with two working parents + kids, and as much as I would love to be the European-style shop the market daily person, that's not happening. Costco (shopping during my secret window when it's quiet) saves me a ton of time.

I have a second standard fridge/freezer in the basement (the old one from our kitchen; not a deep freezer) and we also have a long wall of shelving where we keep extra non perishables we eat regularly (cereals, canned goods, oils, dressing, baking supplies, etc.) as well as tp/paper towels/napkins and cleaning supplies.

Unless they left it at either end of the checkout rows. That’s where they keep the “go back” carts for returns or items ditched at checkout. Leave your cart there and it will be whisked away in no time.

My solution is to send my husband! He will only go once every 4-6 weeks. I might give him a short list but he knows the standard items to buy and he can move through pretty fast. He will always buy a roast chicken, KS Pesto Sauce, lamb chops, fruit, eggs. It's just the two of us so we don't need a year supply of toilet paper.
