He’s already offering to sell permits and no environmental regulations to anyone who can pay for it.

We’re going to be like The Lorax when everything is dead.

The proposal is, if you invest a billion in the US, you can do whatever you want. I am not sure how you get through local permitting but I guess it will be a trump edict (so much for local control and federalism, except abortion, right?)

But what about the US citizens and companies that are investing less than a billion - you know, most of us - I guess we still play by the rules and the added expense.

The government has essentially been outsourced to the consulting firms. If we want a functioning government (and clearly the GOP doesn't) then someone has to do the work, either staff or outsourced. Outsourced is more expensive, but hey, the GOP has been "cutting the government" since the 1980's, so its all good, right?

Will contractors be cut or will federal workers be cut?

If the GOP were serious they would evaluate the function of government and realize how much cheaper it would be to return to the practice of the 1970's, where the government did the work in house, rather than outsource.

The GOP is not serious, however, and will likely continue to cut the government workforce for more contractors, and those who work in government will now have a loyalty test to Trump rather than any sort of expertise in the areas covered like weather, engineering, food safety, drug efficacy etc.

Well you will have to wait on Medicare till you’re 68 or 70. So keep working and hope you do not get fired. ACA is very expensive the older you get. It is like $3.5-$4k a month or more but it is going away.

No. At age 58 I pay about $600 per month in Virginia. By 65 that rises to about $1000 per month. Nobody is paying $4k.

You must have subsidies.

dp.. I had ACA in MD 2 years ago - aged 52 and 58, and 2 teens. It was $1400 for a high deductible plan, no subsidies.

I priced it out again for a 60 year old for a high deductible plan. It was about $600 for a high deductible bronze plan HMO, $970 for a PPO.

No one is paying $4k for a single person.
