Yes, I think the feds will have to go back to the office like most of the working world.

Hours worked are 40 whether your commute is 2 min or 2 hours.
I left the house at 8 to get to Fed job by 9. Left at 5:30, got home 6:30. That's 40 worked hours even if I was out of the house longer.

Jokingly I said what if Broadway just showed a Zoom version of Play, the restaurant just had you pick up a frozen dinner to heat up at your hotel. At hotel you did on line check in and you had to clean your own toilets and make your own beds.

It’s really crazy how on one thread people are freaking out about RTO because they watch their kids from 7-9 and 2-8 and thus work from 9-2 and how on another thread on RTO everyone working from home hits every work goal and works unpaid OT every day and only leaves their desk to throw in laundry or make a sandwich.

Donald Trump is a real estate mogul by trade.

I would be extremely surprised if protecting the corporate real estate industry isn’t a personal top priority. He grew up in that world. His father raised him with money from it.

What logical reason would he have to care about WFH. His voters who cared about the price of eggs are unlikely in jobs that can WFH anyway so his base wont care about it’s abolishment.

whatever. I get most of my work done on my WFH days. In the office, people are talking to me all day long about non-work things. I can hear people snoozing in their cubicles. Also there's only one sandwich shop in my fed building. At $10 a sandwich (no drink/side), I bring my own lunch when I come to work.

An independent assessment needs to happen and may be at the SESs level they need to see which 14/15s to keep if they are not performing or letting lower level non-performers go.

A number of those in the senior executive service are acting in the capacity of a 15 or 14. This isn't a performance issue, per se. It's a grade inflation issue likely due to salary bands and wanting to promote to keep staff (for a variety of reasons). Higher level work has been watered down. And, of course, this isn't across the board. There are SES, 14s, and 15s who do exceptionally complex work and are underpaid relative to that effort.
