Ghazala Hashmi has taken $$ from Comstock and voted in favor of legislation advancing the Tysons casino.
Spanberger also took money from Comstock. She accepted a 500k donation from the Sports Betting Alliance and a 100k donation from the CEO of Comstock.
A powerful reason Spanberger is a NO vote. She wouldn't veto the bill.

Hi Scott!

It was devastating. The first few years it was new and exciting. Then the crime, smaller businesses moved out, and the area got a bad reputation. It’s been a few years since I went back up that way and the area sucks. Whoever said the builders and developers would benefit the most is right. For whoever wants the casino, spend a few weeks or a week in a casino town and take notes. They won’t be good notes.
This is why casinos are usually placed in economically disadvantaged areas in the first place, they are the only places desperate enough to need the money that casinos bring in.
It's bizarre they want to put one in Tysons rather than Woodbridge, Manassas, or Dale City.

I can't wait! BLACKJACK IN TYSONS!!!!! WHOO-HOOOOO!!!!!

It’s also insane to be doing this when Vegas is struggling and online gambling is eating the gambling market.

It’s Senator Marsden, a Dem, who is pushing this. not the Board
