Is there a VDA thread you all could take this to? No one cares about this.

Concur with pp that FVU doesn't have the speed or athletes that NVA has at least at that game. That was also Union's problem last year.

Sensing some strong bias here.

The PP was actually being kind. It was 3-0 and NVA had a bad injury. Could have been 4-0 but for a questionable offsides call. NVA took there foot off the gas which they need to learn not to do.

NVA 2010 parent here.

I agree Union does not have enough speed and athletes to compete. The speed of play is way too slow. You can clearly see our girls are fighting for their positions (DB not kidding around with this). Union is too comfortable as everyone gets to play. Burying slow players in key postions - the attack and the midfield. The players in attack do not have the speed to take anyone on (looking to pass even in a situation where there is one v one). Same case as the midfield can't stop anyone as they are too slow. They really do not have anyone in the midfield that can defend at this fast pace. They do not have any real defensive midfielders. Leaving it up to the back three. Who are trying but its too much pressure on them. They have two attack players (one just came back from injury) that are good and another defender that is good and fast but not enough to compete at this level. With the talent they have, the 3 back formation will be a disaster. Only works when you have a very strong attack and midfield which they are lacking. They need to switch to a 4 back to make it through the season.

This is spot on analysis, I would surprised if this was actually a parent

This is spot on! If you saw their games this weekend, you would see that everyone gets the same amount of playing time. The coach does not play to win. It will be hard for them to keep that up when it comes to the tough teams. They will lose for sure.

Maybe they were all getting playtime because the game werent' as competitive and they were already had a few goals.

agreed. FVU 2010's will be just fine this year. The team has top talent for this area.

But one of your top players a US YNT ID level talent left for another local club, so what area are you referring to?

Was this a former Union player? Because AFAIK, both of the 2010 Brave YNT ID players moved to Union.

Or are you talking about the 2009 Brave player who had been playing up with the 2008s and went to 2009 VDA? If so, she’s not ID level talent, she was actually chosen to play for the YNT last summer. But she obviously doesn’t affect the 2010s.

What happened to not talkng about individual kids?

Nothing but 100% positive things about those high schoolers here.

Just reread my post you quoted. When I wrote about the 2009 “She’s not ID level talent, she was actually chosen to play”, I meant that as a huge compliment. Ie she not only got ID’d, but made the squad.

It doesn't matter if you have all the best intentions and are positive. It's just not necessary for adults to gossip about individual kids - especially those not seeking the limelight. Just don't comment on individual kids. The kid and the families don't need your analysis. They'll get feedback from their coaches, thank you.

I think we’ll have to agree to disagree here. There was zero gossip in my post, and nothing remotely negative. Nor was there analysis. The player in question has an entire article on her former club’s website talking about her background and selection to the YNT, so this is not exactly a secret. The player has been mentioned dozens of times on this forum, including when the selection came out. Context matters, and quite frankly, so does intent. It is ok to celebrate individual success along with team / club success.

Had I written “I heard XYZ moved to 2009 VDA because BP promised her a spot on the YNT if she did so.”, then I could totally see your point (the above is a fake hypothetical, btw). But this feels like tilting at windmills.

We all know who you are talking about in this example.....

Of course you do, because the player (and her success) is very well publicized. Good for her, seriously. 99% of online high school sports focus is on boys’ football, basketball, baseball, and lax. Ever seen college football or basketball recruiting sites? Nice to see girls’ soccer get some (positive) attention to players’ successes.

BP will be losing his mind on the sidelines during that VDA match.

Time to think how to cheat, moving players up down…rescheduling the day of the game (typical).

I’m a FVU parent (not 2010) so want them to succeed but predictions at this point are stupid. We’re two conference games in. Just let the kids play and stop living vicariously through your kid.
