Why is dunking on PG county still a thing? I live here and I can genuinely say I love it. I’ve never felt unsafe and I’ve always felt the county government is responsive. It’s just pure racism behind this narrative.

As someone who works in global logistics, this is one of the dumber hit pieces Ive ever seen.
Every port on the east coast allows panamax container ships. NY, NJ, Norfolk, etc.
If for some reason the port of Baltimore did not (and therte is literally no reason for them not to), they would be at such an economic disadvantage, it would be devastating to the state.

And if for some reason allowing panamax was so bad, and dangerous- why did Wes Moore not rescind it? Why did the MD house and senate do nothing about it??

It's comparable to saying Baltimore shouldn't build another skyscraper downtown because you never know there might be a bad fire. If the port was to remain viable it had to accept the big boats that the other ports accept. Just the way it is. And the problem wasn't the boat itself insomuch as failure to run it properly.

Hogan has an impressive lead in the Sun polls against both Democratic challengers. Bigger than I'd thought given Maryland's voting pattern. He is seemingly holding on to the share of the Maryland electorate that voted for him as governor.
November is still a long way off. But wow! I'm impressed.

Which would not have happened if the Port required all vessels to be guided by tugs until past the bridge. Wes Moore is in full control of port operations. He appointed Wiedelfeld of WMATA fame to run transportation for the state. You are pointing the finger directly at the sitting Democratic governor and his appointee with a long track record of incompetence.

I crossed party lines to vote for Hogan once, but never again.
