I’m glad he was not fired and I hear he jointly made the decision to leave with the school given the threats he was receiving. Have some compassion, I hope the school gave him a great financial deal to end his contract early.
I think this is fair to say, except his staying at the school was absolutely not going to work. So saying the "threats" are what made him leave is a bit of a stretch. He would not have ever had the same level of respect from parents, students, and other faculty as he did before the incident. Yes he had some support, but there were many who were unhappy that were not speaking up.
And some of those speaking up against him sounded like bigots, I lost a lot of respect for other SR parents over the past month.

The Catholic Church has apologized and hidden child rapists for centuries but they’ll jettison a wonderful teacher in a minute. Hypocrisy. You all keep your kids at a school that probably pays money for the defense of child molester priests. But clutch your pearls at this?

It’s sad this is how he left… I wish there was a way to reach out to him and let him know he was a special and respected member of the SR community.
I am a SR parent and I agree. I think the HOS is fantastic and very thoughtful. She is a strong leader and balances lots of interest.
I don't see how he could have stayed as the head of middle school, but I personally would have let him stay to end of school year as a teacher. He is beloved.

You can live the past if you want, but the truth of the matter is that the Catholic Church has never been more careful than now about rooting out anything resembling sexual abuse in its schools. I know my kids are safer in Catholic schools than public schools because of the hoops the teachers and volunteers much go through to be cleared.
Oh, and clearly you are a bigot.
Not a bigot. It's not living in the past, it's living the present with a keen awareness of the misery that the Catholic Church has caused millions of people. As of January 2024, thirty-seven US Catholic religious organizations have sought bankruptcy protection in chapter 11. Twenty-four cases have concluded, 13 are still pending. The fact is that they are doing that because of the years of protection the Catholic Church gave to pedophiles. That's a fact. They will still be paying off that debt for years to come. Your tithing to the Catholic Church goes to pay off settlements and the economic ruin that was caused by...you guessed it, the Catholic Church and those with power in the Catholic Church.
