It would be great to get more female firefighters because the fire & rescue industry is rife with sexual harassment of women and having more women could potentially change that culture. That being said, it's understandable that fewer women are interested in fire and rescue given the physical demands of the job. Airline pilots do not face the same physical demands so I don't see why they would have trouble recruiting women to a free training program that leads to a career. Sorry you're upset only 20% of the class was White men, but that just sounds really entitled that they should get the free training program and other people shouldn't.

Is the point of firefighting to have a nice accepting culture, or to put out fires and save people?
