US immigration policy has not been updated for 30 years. The numbers of visas and work permits allowed are pathetically small in relation to the need for workers here in the US. Many jobs go unfilled by Americans, but immigrants will gladly take those jobs AT A LOWER PAY (fixed that for ya). The US Congress needs to increase the numbers of immigrant workers allowed to enter the US legally each year to work here.
