Again, with all due respect to the good lacrosse players that will find a home somewhere, there are not 12 Capital-level players on Stars. Or Pride. Some from each plus others, including ones currently playing for MD teams will comprise CLC Blue.

Yes to this. The best chance at a competitive team is a make up of 6, max from stars, 8-10 from Pride and 5 from MD teams or Richmond or random unknown.

There are 2-4 NL girls who should make one of the 2 Cap teams. One is a very good attack, one good midi and 2 defenders.

Everyone needs to relax. There is a lot of talent on pride and stars to make a team that competes with the top ten. The 25s had very similar rankings for pride and stars when they were in eighth grade, and they are doing great

Also, if you don’t have an older kid that has been through all of this, you don’t realize that the Maryland teams are maxed out. They don’t get any better. Where as everyone else starts to catch up to the Maryland clubs

Also, so worrying about rankings. Colleges are going to come and watch Capital because they know that they put out some great athletes

And I could care less about which team puts more girls on the blue team. I just want the blues team to be top notch and the Orange team coming in close behind

Stars was a feeder to Capital years ago when it was a youth-only program. Not as much anymore ever since Stars was purchased by STJ in hopes of starting a HS team. Stars is as much a feeder to Capital as Pride is these days simply because both are typically the best MS programs in the area.

That is not a good endorsement of Capital.

If that is the case, it does not bode well if half of the team is comprised of players that barely crack the top 40.

Capital is great but they can only go as far as the talent goes. Unless a bunch of Baltimore/annapolis girls decide to go to capital I don’t see the 28s being in the same range as the 25s.

Saying ANY team will not be #1 is playing it very safe. The wildcard continues to be the local players on MD teams. If they come home, 2028s will have a team.

Several things:

1) I don't see why the local girls (excluding current MD players) would not be a pretty good team. Heck, Pride is currently a top 20 team without a bunch of good local players, bot on other local teams as well as MD teams.

2) Adding the MD players would be even better, but not all of them are necessary components. With all due respect to everyone, not all of the MD players have the same talent and potential.

From this logic, the 28 Capital team will just be all of Pride 28? Thanks for the laugh today.

Did you read the post? It does not imply that at all.

Stars will be half the Capital squad, wait and see. Talent has nothing to do with it. Stars is a feeder to Capital. They will take some Pride and others, but good players will be left off unfortunately.

No, it will have some Stars and other clubs I just think the vast majority of talent will be from Pride. Stars is currently ranked 38, NL is 68, and BLC and MC Elite likely do not have any players that would contend for a spot on either Cap team. Is there another club I am missing? Save for some unknown star from Richmond, I am not sure how this is a controversial take.

There is a tremendous difference b/w top 20 and top 5. Pride is a good team but that is it with respect to local talent and everyone knows it.

Yes, the point was even that ragtag group is top 20. Adding a few quality players gets top 10, which is probably just fine for exposure at big tournaments.

No one said they were “ragtag.” Rather, the local talent is consolidated to Pride. Believe me, I wish there was more talent to pull from but I do not see any of the local teams adding a player that pushes Pride significantly up the rankings.

I said they were ragtag, and I don't agree the local talent is consolidated there. Clearly they have some good players, but I do not believe they have ALL of the best 24 local players. Typically substituting superior players would result in better performance, and I see no reason why that would not be true here as well.

You must be aware of a secret lacrosse club in the DC area no one else knows about. And how is Pride ragtag? What a bizarre characterization.
