He is also trailing badly in PA, AZ, and GA. And he was already in negative territory in these states before October 7. None of which have the Muslim population in Michigan. Biden has a lot more to lose by siding with pro Palestinian factions than Israel. In the first place, there are twice as many Jewish voters than Muslim voters. In the second place, the vast majority of Americans back Israel over Gaza and Hamas according to all polls. It doesnt mean support for a war but between the two sides, support is for Israel. As for Dearborn, I don't understand the complaints. Biden has done more for Palestinians than any president since Bush the First. And as for the Jewish complainers, none of his criticisms of Israel have been remotely controversial.

These elections don't come down to districts, though - the votes are counted state-wide. It doesn't take that many Muslim voters to decide they hate Jews just that much, to swing things in Michigan. I really hope that they will be made up for by moderate voters who would rather eat glass than go back to Trump. I guess we'll see.

According a The New York Times/Siena College poll released today, Biden is trailing Trump by 5 points in Michigan. I doubt Biden is as cavalier about the Muslim and Arab vote as you seem to be.

In other words, for critical voters in swing states, a strong point in Biden’s favor is his ability to repudiate and restrain the progressive left.

These marches, with their violence and graffiti and antisemitism, show that Biden can’t restrain the progressive left. Plus they show the progressive left aligned with values that repel moderate voters: support for terrorism, attempts to overrun the White House, etc.

The marches will draw important voters to Republicans, make no mistake. For moderates who were horrified by J6, there are now images of masked far leftists trying to get into the White House while carrying the flag of a terrorist-supporting foreign country. For moderates worried about terrorism, there are now images and videos that look like thousands of people protesting in favor of terrorism on American streets.

And yes of course I know that most protestors just want peace blah blah blah. Do you think effective campaign ads show any of that? Do you think the intent matters whatsoever in campaign politics? There are now going to be pictures and videos of masked far leftists trying to scale the White House fence with flags of a foreign country flooding moderate voters from now until the next presidential election. Essentially the far left has handed the Republicans a neat way of removing J6 as a campaign tool for Democrats and that’s a powerful victory for Republicans.

I expect Israel to be completely irrelevant to the voting decisions of the vast majority of voters. It's completely bizarre you think that Bide's "pro-Israel stance" was making swing state voters lean towards him.

He seems to be. He wants billions to help Israelis shoot down rockets. I haven’t heard any proposal to shoot down planes bombing Palestinians. If both parties are the same on foreign policy, Rs align a lot better with social policy.

And you're forgetting that PA and AZ have enough Jewish voters to swing the election.

As for Dearborn, I don't understand the complaints. Biden has done more for Palestinians than any president since Bush the First. And as for the Jewish complainers, none of his criticisms of Israel have been remotely controversial.

Biden's done a great job on this so far. The Israelis and Palestinians aren't cooperating but that's par for the course. At least he seems to understand the complex interconnected nature of this cluster.

I think Jews and anyone baffled by the rabid antisemitism happening on campus was upset by how many Dems voted against rather a commonsense statement to the point of jumping ship. I can see why a Jewish person might make this a benchmark for evaluating future candidates.
