If you want to be a Supreme Court justice, go to Harvard or Yale law school. If you want to be Governor of Nebraska, you're fine going to the University of Nebraska for law school.

I think depending on where you live, it's not always the biggest name school if you need local connections. If you want to hop jobs and make a ton of $$$ yes, but if you are living in a random area and want quality of life, it's good to know people from that area.
