why are discussions like this even happening for girls in elementary school? this is the problem with parents in this area. you should be supporting them to enjoy kid life until right before high school

Yeah, I feel like this is some urban myth that has become relentlessly repeated. Everyone knows it’s risky to be a single sport athlete at this point based on the research. You’re asking for injuries if you’re a single sport athlete.

Talk to any parent whose kids have graduated from college. They'll tell you - except for those few unicorns who are legitimately heads and tails above other players - the frenzy of club lacrosse at the younger ages is completely ridiculous. Girls get burned out playing so many out of town tournaments, they get tired of crappy parent behavior when all they want to do is "play", parents put so much pressure regarding college access (not even scholarships, just "this will help you get considered at places you might not anyway"). Meanwhile those girls end up quitting the sport, playing low level club in college etc. - and (guess what) having great lives...

Top 5% - if your daughter isn't legitmately in that group by 7th/8th grade, chill out and enjoy the ride....

What spring NGLL warm up event is your club participating in? Nothing seems to be up in tourney machine.

What does this have to do with rankings? I agree that it's not helpful to take them too seriously, teams that are closely ranked could all beat each other on any given day and it's really important to get lots of playing time at this age. But when we travel to a tournament and see that we're playing one team with a top 10 ranking and another team in the 50s it's nice to have some idea which is likely to be the more difficult game.

Again, its fall. Unless it occurred in same day, lots of kids missing for fall sports, lots of mixing and matching, not playing to "win" a lot of times.

I know on our team, huge difference between top goalie and other goalie but in fall they split each half and it can be huge difference in goals allowed.

Hero's White is a very capable team. They will only continue to get better. They had a good fall. However, it makes no sense that BLC ties Hero's Green and loses to Hero's white.

M&D is better than MDU but not by much, MDU has beaten them a few times in last year.

And BLC beat MDU earlier in the fall before losing later. Whole discussion is dumb, especially at this age when it is an any given day situation and any team can have a bad or good day.

I think you are confused, we are discussing the BLC 2030 girls team that lost to Hero's White this fall.
