And he is very resentful of that.

He channels that resentment well, which is appealing to others who feel they are being looked down.

In fact, no one is actually looking down on them; we’re just not really paying attention to them and are not interested in their cultural references, television shows or sports teams. Nothing wrong with them. They’re just not relevant.

I defer to others on whether it is the Catholic Church or not. But very clearly the MAGA Irish and Italians who were discriminated against for decades are leading the charge against the next groups fighting discrimination. Justice A-hole is leading the charge. Pulling up the ladder, nothing more.

Black Americans & immigrants from the Caribbean are more likely to be democrats - black latino and African immigrants are trump curious or think all American politicos are trump but with a shiny educated veneer. I’d have to disagree. Boston Proper and suburbs hide behind a neutral veil. I live in NY, and also lived in Boston (North End). Of course, the further north you go, the veil comes off. New Englanders are permanently clenched and repressed. I can say this because my outlaws (DH family) all Republicans. Odd because some are blonde, blue eyed Italians who think they’re of Kennedy lineage. Odd ducks. The discernible vote is GenZ. Lots of college students stick around after graduating.
