I bet they’re relived that’s a long time to hold your pee!
I was thinking the same.
Me too!

This is a huge outage. Does anyone know what happened?
Answering myself - hear a small plane hit power lines at the airpark

Huh? Why? You don’t think it’s going to be possible to drive out of that area?
Without power, I could not shower, blow dry my hair and get ready for work. So, no - I am not going in.
I honestly can’t tell if this poster is serious. You can’t go to work if you can’t blow dry your hair? Where I grew up (Midwest) this would clearly be a joke, but people in the DMV are… special.
Plus, water isn’t off— power is.
Like hell I’m taking a cold shower to go to work, so if my house has an electric water heater and power is out-I’m out.
Not to mention that when I taught HS I showered at 5 am and taking a shower in the pitch dark wouldn’t be on my to do list either.
lol. What a rough life you must have. For instance, your apparent inability to afford flashlights.

Why???????
Lots of schools won’t have electricity tomorrow. It’s going to get worse before it gets better.
Why not just close the schools that don’t have power and the rest of us can go to school? Ridiculous. The county is huge. Plenty of areas are not impacted by this.

Time to go back to page 1 and re-read. Something about 120,000 people without power…school depot and food affected and 44 schools with no power. But besides that…
Two people were rescued early Monday morning from a plane that was left dangling 100 feet in the air from power lines after it crashed in Montgomery County, Maryland, on Sunday night.
Rescue workers pulled the pilot and passenger of the small plane out of the wreckage after they were trapped for several hours after the crash.
Crews had to deenergize the electric tower and ground it to ensure no remaining energy was running through the structure. Officials said the plane then had to be secured to the tower, so it wouldn't fall during the rescue.
[...]
Pepco reported about 85,000 customers were without power because of the plane crash.
As of early Monday morning, all but 911 Pepco customers had their power restored.
Montgomery County Public Schools tweeted that schools would be closed Monday due to the power outage.

For a few hours on a Sunday night? Dramatic much?Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:MCPS wouldn’t close all the schools in the county due to a handful of schools without power, right?
Way more than a handful…
MCPS just sent out a communication that notes 44 schools without power, plus 6 central office facilities. Sounds to me like they are planning for a closure.
Lawyer pilot should be fined to cover all these costs.
Anonymous wrote:I found the pilot on twitter. He’s a COVID minimizing republicans who works as a solo practitioner (which is a pretty good indicator for having a difficult or arrogant personality).
Obviously I still hope they are safe though.

Yes, but you’re not thinking about the teachers that won’t be able to blow dry their hair tomorrow.
So let me get this straight-public schools with power are closed while private schools with power remain open. Makes perfect sense.
