I just checked the match stats and US team was even more impressive than I thought. They fought really hard and deserve credit. Winning is not everything - fighting hard with heart and improving is what matters. The skill level will increase over time,

Shots at goals Neth- 11, US 17
Shots on target Neth - 6, US 8
Possession of ball - Neth - 41%, US 59%
Passes Neth - 414, US 569

The Stars and Stripes played really hard.


US outplayed Ned for sure except goalie couldn’t stop much.

Also proud of Aussie Socceroos - they played hard and with heart. Soccer is similarly not the main sport in Australia but they fought so hard until the last second.

Messi is a force of nature and the Argentinians deserved their win.
