My kids will likely lose their parents at a much younger age than I will, but my kids are growing up in a household with far less financial stress. I wish I had my kids earlier, but I selfishly lost my job in my early thirties and then had a series of very selfish miscarriages. The silver lining is I'm extra grateful for my kids and name calling by sad internet strangers doesn't faze me personally.

PS - I’m also thinking of having another next year.

I had my first at 38 and second at 40. At the time I didn’t want to tempt fate by having more, but looking back it probably would have been fine. If you have the desire to have another I encourage you to do it; statistics are on your side, despite the naysayers.

Well, if you go back to the OP’s original post, she asked for input from women who had babies at 40+. So all of the PPs who didn’t have kids in their 40s aren’t actually answering the question she asked.
And that’s ok. There’s no rule here about who can post.
