Current Board of Education is not required to abide by what the previous Board of Education has decided.

18 months before Woodward opens (reopens?), the then current Board of Education will decide who will attend Woodward, and from what feeder schools.

The BoE has decided that Woodward would be used to relieve overcrowding at WJ and the DCC.

https://ww2.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/departments/policy/pdf/faa.pdf

Two of the four factors of boundary changes are "Stability of school assignments over time" and "Facility utilization", where "plans should result in facility utilizations in the 80 percent to 100 percent efficient range over the long term, whenever possible."

According to the CIP, BCC is in the mid 90% utilization now and won't get over 100% for quite a while. In what dreamscape would someone suggest the BoE go against a couple factors to include BCC in a boundary study when they've already excluded it from the discussion?

Some trolls try too hard.

WJ, Wheaton, and Einstein. That's it.

and BCC which is also adjacent

If the intent was to include BCC along with WJ and the DCC to populate Woodward, why would the plans never mention BCC? It wouldn’t need to be some kind of deep state secret.

The plans DID mention BCC at one point, and BCC parents had a hissy fit (see the Lyttonsville Master Plan or Sector Plan, I forget). BCC was then removed.

This is completely misleading information. Master/Sector plans are land use documents done by the Planning Department - they have no power in school assignment plans.

BCC was also part of the DCC originally but the parents also had a hissy fit then and got them removed.

That also has nothing to do with Woodward.

BCC's boundary is adjacent to Woodward and will be part of the boundary shuffling that happens to populate that school and make room for others.

Makes sense that schools who are adjacent to Woodward will be affected but the question is if the BCC parents still have the clout to weasel out of this like everything else.

Woodward doesn't have boundaries yet, so it has no adjacencies. All we have to go on is the CIP, linked earlier, which states that Woodward will be a solution for WJ and DCC schools.

It is located between WJ, Wheaton, BCC, and Einstein. Clearly these schools will be impacted unless maybe some parents with clout are able to once again buy their way out of doing their share.

The Troll is strong in this one!

If by posting factual statements that makes sense sure...

"Clearly these schools will be impacted..." is your opinion/guess, not a fact.

Sure, it's also my opinion that it will snow sometime next winter. Both are equally likely outcomes.

The BoE already said Woodward is to relieve overcrowding at WJ and in the DCC (with Northwood in the DCC also getting larger). Why would the BoE want to kick the hornet's nest and add BCC to the study?

So you think they'll bus kids across county? Doubtful! They'll make room at the schools adjacent to Woodward and then replace them with kids from overcrowded schools.

Look when we talk about neighborhood schools we mean W's and BCC. It's okay to bus the rest of the county.

But apparently that's "across county" to people who never travel in that direction.

And BCC, which is just as close as the other schools...

See the post above yours Since BCC doesn’t need to have overcrowding relieved, it makes no sense to move BCC feeders to Woodward instead of the closer Einstein and Wheaton feeders.

True, but schools adjacent to it do so it will likely play its part.

It has no part to play in reducing the overcrowding in the DCC and WJ. Blair’s overcrowding is going to be addressed by the Northwood expansion. There are no Wheaton feeders adjacent to BCC. The Einstein feeders that could be considered adjacent are OTES, Flora Singer, and Woodlin. There is zero chance that Einstein’s highest performing feeder gets re-zoned to BCC. Part of OTES is in the walk zone to Einstein, and is also closer to Woodward than it is to BCC. That just leaves Flora Singer, and it doesn’t make any sense to move kids from BCC to Woodward just so Flora Singer can be re-zoned to BCC. The shuffling between Einstein, Wheaton and Woodward is what makes geographic sense and follows the stated objective of reducing crowding in the DCC and at WJ.

Why do you keep insisting that moving kids from Einstein and Wheaton to Woodward is moving them across county? A basic search would show you that there are a handful of feeders to those DCC schools that are closer to Woodward than any of BCCs feeders are. But keep your weird BCC-Woodward fanfic going.
