Yes, you can't see each other's smiles, yes indoor dining is out, yes kids should mask in school, yes indoor swimming is out. But then, no mass disabling event, yay.
It isn't that complicated, it isn't that onerous.
I know multiple people who caught covid while traveling, wearing N95s constantly while indoors and on planes. If you really want to be safe, you need to wear airtight goggles at all times. Maybe with a side air filter built in so your eyeballs get adequate oxygen. I'm thinking I might need to patent this.

Completely agree. We have vaccines that are effective at preventing serious illnesses, prophylactics for high-risk individuals, and treatments for those that catch covid. Time to move on.
Agree. Time to move on. Including lifting isolations and quarantines for kids at school, camps, activists and people at work unless they are symptomatic. Same with testing. No more testing unless people are sick.

The vast majority of people aren't catching covid multiple times. Please see NY's reinfection data, click on the "all infections" tab and look at rates per 100k of infections and reinfections. https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/covid-19-reinfection-data
If someone caught covid 4 times this year, they probably have an immunodeficiency of some sort, and it is unlikely to have been caused by covid. Covid is not airborne aids, despite what you read on twitter.. Also evidence for low reinfection rate is that the BA2 peak is much, much lower than the BA1 peak, even using wastewater data (which mirrors the test data).

Except that both the vaccines and available antivirals are not currently enough to prevent long-covid, and each infection is its own risk of long-covid and there really isn't a high-risk individual profile more susceptible to long-covid, everyone is at risk.
Moving on also includes 90% of your flights getting canceled.
Except most normal people aren’t living in fear of long Covid. If your goal is to completely avoid Covid, that’s your problem to deal with, not societies.

Not nice. I have it on vacation right now and I am sick as a dog.
I run a training class and we had multiple speakers (all of whom are vaccinated due to work requirements) out due to covid. It really put us in a bind! While some people are mocking the situation (“The sky is falling!”), it’s not funny for those of us who have to deal with the consequences.
I bet a good portion of those people weren’t even sick, yet have to sit “out” for
5-10 days. Time to revise that

Yep, and many many people are getting is and it is so mild they don’t even realize they have it. Many others have is mild enough, they would just assume mild cold and carry on. And some are sick enough they actually want to stay home and rest. Very few people get a prolonged severe illness or complication. We know this.
