Pretty sure that movie was a mainstream hit. I saw it in the theater and still have the soundtrack on CD.

Bridget Fonda was the “it” girl for a minute. Now she’s a recluse.

I often feel like I’m the only one who ever watched Mrs Soffel with Mel Gibson before we realized he was awful and Diane Keaton and it left an impression on me. Anyone else?

I'm European, and The Fifth Element was huge for my generation (middle 40s). I'm not sure if it was popular here

Le Grand Bleu-- I saw it in France, the summer I spent there in college. I don't remember too much of it, but I remember Jean Marc Barr was gorgeous! I remember the feeling of it but not what happened-- the deep, dark, quiet of the water.

It is about the original cast of Merrily We Roll Along (which bombed on broadway) and how the experience shaped the cast of then 20-somethings. it is no longer streaming but is great.

I also loved The Sweet Hereafter but I don't think I could watch it again now that I am a parent


I loved this film too and found it tremendously moving.
