I have FloraDora Green by Royal Doulton and Blue Prose by Nippon. I probably use them each about 2 or 3 times a year. I also have a Christmas pattern for December, which is Jubilee by Andrea by Szadek, a Williamsburg collection. However, it is not real china. Beautiful though! I have 3 other sets that are also not china that I use on a regular basis. I like tablescapes and might set my dining room table to stay that way for a month at a time. We mainly eat in the kitchen, but on Sundays or holidays we typically eat in the dining room.

Tell me you have no taste/style/appreciation for well made things, without telling me....

What do people have against Corelle? I use mine everyday. Except for when we use our fine china - Herrend Windsor Garden.

I love it. We use it maybe 15-20 times a year on average over 15 years and counting. We use it for Thanksgiving, some other holidays or when we have infrequent guests but don’t limit it to just then; we have used it once in a while with pizza just because. We have separate Christmas china.

My mom has this. I think it’s one of the ugliest china patterns of all time.

Let your mom know she can pass hers on to me and it will live a good life here.

I love my china, I have a large family and have a 12 person set. We use it every holiday and occasionally for other special occasions- birthdays, celebratory dinners etc. I am not fancy at all but love my china, it gives me so much joy.

PP. One more thing. Post wedding, I decided it didn’t like the matchy matchy looks of the server pieces from my pattern. Instead, I purchased a ton of Apilco platters, casserole dishes, tulip bowls, and gratins. Best decision ever. We use the Apilco pieces probably once a kk that.

Bumpity bump in honor of Thanksgiving.

We use our china set every Thanksgiving and it brings me joy every time I set the table with it. My only regrets are getting service for 8 (instead of 12), plates with a platinum rim that we can’t use in the microwave (Lenox Venetian Lace), and purchasing the Waterford Lismore Essence wine glasses (most people fix their own drink during cocktail hour; we mostly use the matching water goblet). I also thought the popularity of the Lismore crystal meant it would never be discontinued; production of our pattern has slowed to a crawl so it’s been hard to buy extra.

I am also really happy that mid-engagement, I changed my mind on the standard 5 piece setting. I realized I would never use a tea cup and saucer, and instead opted for the 3 piece set with the dinner plate, dessert plate, and rimmed soul bowl. That was definitely a good move.

Late 30s, married in 2015.

Oh goodness. Our 'china' is as vintage as I am. LOL.

China: Noritake Burgundy (even though it's a 'blue' pattern and chosen to go with the '50s Libbey Silver Foliage glassware we 'inherited' from spouse's side of the family).

Glassware: the utterly mass-produced Cristal D'Argues Longchamps (that's seen in a lot of 90s movies and TV shows because it 'looks' expensive-ish and is virtually indestructible) or Oneida's Simplicity line

Our current rule is I will only handwash either the china or the glassware (so we rarely 'pair' the first two together). 'Something' nice(r than our Corelle everyday stuff) will get used at least once a month for a birthday, celebration, or holiday.

And, since we're a dry household (at the moment) having all the different stem- and bar-ware is a bit of a waste. But I still absolutely love our Simplicity Martini glasses, for a Manhattan, of course. Big, properly proportioned, thin, but not too thin, and dishwasher safe. Oh to be young again.....

Oh that’s too bad! I love it, it has such a distinctive Art Nouveau / Belle Epoque glamour to it .
