Was it Tout Va Bien? I used to wait tables there. It was next to Paper Moon I think? It's all a haze now. Used to finish my shift, then we would go out dancing at The Vault or what was the other dance club like it? The 5th Column?
Loved the Vault and 5th c. Also Cities in Adams Morgan. Loved the dance clubs so much. Now I dance in front of the mirror if no one else is home. Miss those days!
The 5th Column!
Was the 5th column the one above the old Banana Republic? BN was at the corner of Wisconsin and M ST.

classic clothing
DP. YESSSSSS!!! Classic Clothing was my first brush with vintage when I was a teen in the 80s. I bought the most iconic oversized tweed coat there. It is what I'm wearing in so many pictures from that era. Very St. Elmo's Fire! God, I miss that store.

Bread Soda, El Centro, Booeymonger, The Tombs, Wingo's
It's not cheap to drink in the area, so there's not a lot of solid college bars. Booeymonger is probably the cheapest place to get a pitcher, but it's a pretty chill scene.
Mostly they do relatively tame houseparties in the surrounding neighborhood. Every weekend I see small groups of students walking down the street with an 18-pack, on their way to someone else's group house.
Though they are starting to get priced out Burlieth/Glover Park. Lots of landlords have sold off the student housing to families who gut renovate. (Speaking as someone who did this)
