Look discreetly if you must. Following someone on Insta makes you look thirsty and disrespectful. It’s the social media equivalent of getting drunk and handsy at an office party.

+1

I wouldn't judge a woman whose husband did this, but I would feel bad for her. And if my DH did it, I'd feel embarrassed. It's no much a judgment of her as that his actions reflect poorly on their relationship.

Exactly this. Looking (not leering) when you go into the hair place is no big deal. The following is what makes it seem pathetic and potentially humiliating for both DH and wife.

Yes, it’s normal to check out hot people. It’s not normal to stalk random employees of businesses you frequent on social media and follow them so you can check them out online. The difference seems obvious to me but, apparently, it’s not?

I get coffee at a nearby cafe and there is a hot younger barista who works there. Yeah, I check him out but I wouldn’t seek him out in Instagram and follow him because that would feel creepy to me and imo look pretty pathetic.

Exactly. This. It makes the husband and the wife look ridiculous. It’s embarrassing.

Women like the receptionist at his hairdresser or random influencers? My DH only has Instagram and I tell him he can look up whatever Instagram models he wants but not to follow. I don’t need all of our family and friends to see he’s following bigbootyhottie69 or whatever

Yup. Do people not realize their follows are public? I mean, I'm not sitting around scrolling my DH's follows on social media, but he's not dumb enough to do this. I know he looks at porn sometimes and I don't care about that as long as it's legal (I'd be really upset if he was looking at underage girls, for instance) and he's discreet. There's nothing wrong with looking at some pictures or videos to get you horny. But don't do it in a way that advertises what you are doing to anyone with an Instagram account. That's just dumb and disrespectful.
