All it did for me was to confirm again how truly the DC area is in a bubble. Many Blue and Red states are making every effort to get back to normal and our region has legions of people who just refuse to move forward, live in 24/7 fear and hoping for some type of long term adoption of COVID type monitoring and rules.
Go travel. Talk to people in other states. Watch them live. Its great to see!
and NJ is seeing steady drops in transmission. In fact, Union County has one of the lowest transmission rates in the country. It's time to vaccinate, take precautions if YOU need them, and start to regain perspective/balance. We cannot live masked until there is zero spread. It's never going to happen. Just like the flu, strep, colds, norovirus, etc. Assess your level of risk tolerance and behave accordingly. Vaccinate, of course, as you would for any highly infectious disease.

So we made it to Day 6? Looks like we are still on track for masks off by Friday?

Ate in a restaurant in VA today. Most people, even wait staff, were without masks. The wait staff must be vaccinated per the restaurant’s rules. I am vaccinated as well. Not everyone wears a mask once vaccinated.

So never unmask, right? Covid will be around for our lifetimes.
No, will eventually become endemic like the flu and kill significantly fewer people. But, whatever, you obviously haven't been paying attention.
Again, enjoy unmasking in the grocery stores and retail stores and whenever else public you go and increasing exposure to the workers. That's a whole lot worse than being a "miser."

Will anyone save us from these people? How about you stay home for the rest of your life? Please, please do it.
Actually the saving we need is from anti-vaxers and anti-maskers, two groups that increase transmission of the flu to others-exactly the same for COVID. Why accept needless risk?
You accept so-called needless risk all the time with every decision you make. We accept that risk because we prefer the option with risk.
50/50 you are a troll though.
We’ve seen people suggesting maintaining masking throughout the Covid pandemic for similar reasons as above.
We have flu vaccines. The government should apply the same pressure to vaccinate for the flu and at the same time maintain enhanced mitigation protocols as it did for Covid. Why throw off the positive prevention measures that worked for reducing the spread of Covid?
I still don’t understand why you refuse to purchase something like the MIRA respirator and use it on your own? Why do you want instead to have a government force us to do something unprecedented in human social history for your personal comfort?
Here you go. This is for you. It has full CBRNE protection. This is serious. Why won’t you do it and leave the rest of us to live our lives as normal?

Personally I'd prefer this:

How are you not living a normal life? How is masking that big of a deal? Your life is fully back to normal so grow up and mask up.
