The Democrats painted themselves into a corner. They want to both blame the Republicans while getting credit for fighting for healthcare subsidies. That’s a very fine needle to thread compared to the messaging on a clean CR.
The first 12:24 here...do you feel like answering my question? The closer we get to November 21, the less leverage Mike Johnson has. I'd say he is the one who is painted into a corner.
These posts are really light on data. Surely there is polling showing this right?
The group that keeps voting “no” on opening up the govt will get the blame.
Polling suggests the American public understands:
1) how bad the BBB is for them
2) that the GOP passed it without any input from Democrats
3) that the GOP controls the House, Senate and White House
and
4) That the Dems ONLY concession to reopen the government its to spare millions of Americans, mostly red state voters, a tripling or more of health care premiums.
So no, the Dems don't get the blame here.

Umm wrong. Republicans control all three branches of government! The Republicans should put forth an appropriations bill that will pass, not a crappy CR no one wants. Johnson is incompetent. He should do his job!

A truly clean CR would continue to fund existing things at existing levels. This one has ACA and Medicare funding going away. Thus I would not consider it to be a clean CR.
That is the same as existing levels, as in 2020 Democrats passed a temporary five year subsidy boost, that goes beyond four times the poverty level.
Reminds me of those temporary tax cuts--mostly benefitting the wealthy--that we just made permanent....
