LOL. I despite Giblin and like Horsey as a person, but this is not about race. Giblin is a jerk but he was not brought in to be the assistant for long. He will be the HC sooner rather than later. But I agree he is an embarrassment as a person.

Gonzaga needs to consistently beat both Prep and Landon for several years in a row to claim they are on top of the Mountain. Not just win a game 2x in a row. When Gonzaga can beat both Prep and Landon for 4 consecutive years, YES, I would say they are TOP DOG in the DMV.

Giblin will have his way with Prep while he is at SJC. Wouldn't be surprised if a few kids transfer over to Military road in the coming years.

And whoever thinks Gonzaga is on the same page as Prep is dreaming. You need to beat them a few times in a row and be the best team in DC for a constructive years. I think it's been 3 years since Gonzaga beat Prep. [/qu

If you want to go down swinging, fine...Landon was a co-champ in 2014? Mmmkkay, well GP lost a game to STA at STA on a field STA allowed the grass to grow to mid shins level. Then they slammed down STA the next time. That was the only game GP lost in 2014. They smoked Landon twice. A better question is what self respecting Landon kid or parent would walk around wearing a co-IAC champs t-shirt.

All of this is hard to face, but over the recent 3, 5 or 7 years Landon was passed by GP (and that is now over since GP's Giblin dynasty obsession is over, and after this year when their parent coach's kid graduates it is really over) and has been passed by Gonzaga.

Let me give you one statistic as to why lacrosse crazies have flocked and will keep flocking to Gonzaga and will start flocking to play for a sidelines tyrant who is also a lacrosse genius at STJ: about $20K a year is a lot less and a lot more affordable than about $40K a year. As a lacrosse academy, Landon had its day when it was the only game in town kind of like Madlax was for club before others arrived. With less expensive choices and the same quality lacrosse elsewhere, that era is over. And anyone who rates Gonzaga's lacrosse quality below Landon's isn't someone with an informed opinion.

I don't like Giblin, but he will make a big impact at STJ. Foolish of Gonzaga and Prep dads to think otherwise. The price is much cheaper than Prep and he will get kids to comes, especially those in Montgomery County.

If Prep had closed the gap in the 90's like you said they did, why did it take them until 2004 to finally beat Landon.

I think you are over estimating how far Giblin will take the SJC program.

SJC will always be a football and baseball school first, basketball 2nd.

Lacrosse will always be 3rd tier on Military Road.

Too many kids playing lacrosse now and kids are going to schools all around the beltway.

He's a strong personality and a royal pain in the rear for school administrators when he wants his way, but that does not translate into harming a kid. I also couldn't care less about the boys at the bar stories. He's not popular with everyone, but he can sure coach lacrosse. STJ will be beating Prep and Landon in no time once he gets kids he wants in that program. An FYI for those of you without long history, Prep for years in the 1990s would get crushed by Landon. People said it would never happen, but Landon spent the next decade plus looking up at Prep. Gonzaga was the one getting crushed 6-7 years ago, and look at them now. Things change.

By 1997 and 1998, Prep had closed the gap. The GP-Landon games in those years were 1-goal Landon victories that could have gone either way.

Will O'Connell have a chance with Coach Ryan Beck?

What defines a better program?

In order for Gonzaga boosters to claim they are a better lacrosse program than prep, they need to actually beat The LiL Hoyas on a regular bases.

Gonzaga was the 3rd best team in the area last year.

Gonzaga is the better program now and for th3 foreseeable future. To deny that is sticking your head in the sand.

You'd have a point there is Prep hadn't won the conference in 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013 & 2014.

A lot of those are co-iac championships so they shared
