Yes, “Sofee” and why does Kevin have the valentine?

He was writing out Valentines to all the girls in his class (in flashbacks).

Yes I understand that but the point if a valentine is to give it to those people. You don’t tuck it away at age 8.

I read on another site that the card asked if someone would be his Valentine, circle yes or no. She probably circled yes and gave it back.

“Yes” was circled, so she must’ve given it back.

I’m frankly surprised it wasn’t destroyed in the house fire that killed jack.

He always had it with him in his wallet.

How old were the kids in the fire? They had wallets at that age?

Lol. No, they definitely didn’t. But I’ll suspend my disbelief bc I love this show

He doesn’t need to have it in his wallet in elementary. He could have left it at home and put it in his wallet in high school. Jack dies when the kids are seniors.
Right, was t Kevin out with friends or Sophie? Maybe driving.

Kevin and Sophie were off together somewhere during the fire. He snuck out during the night. Rebecca was scared because he wasn't there when the family got out.

The kids were 17 when the house burned down. Sophie was Kevin's girlfriend at the time. It makes sense he carried the valentine in his wallet.

Yes, it was. And I cried anyway.

It had to be Sophie. I hated this convoluted episode. No way would he end up with Katie Lowes who was just introduced last week. And he and Cassidy have established multiple times that they are better off as friends. There were a few gems like Rebecca’s talk with Sophie towards the end but otherwise the episode could have been better after the highs of the last few episodes. But I’ve always been on Team Sophie so I am happy overall.

So much dynamite and so little POW! A shocking underperformance by the writers this episode. But all in all still a win. (Although Mandy Moore may have had the best scene when she talked to Sophie).

There was so much pre-hotel bed chemistry and everything fizzled after. I feel there was so much unmet potential. But I still root for K&S

Is it me or was the two of them in bed together not hot at all? I think they have wonderful chemistry outside the sack but in? Meh

The lack of chemistry in bed was intentional to 1) Throw the audience off about the ultimate outcome, or just keep is guessing 2) Show that Sophie-at the time- was having misgivings about giving K another chance

No, it was lazy writing.

More like lazy directing. The scene was not set up well.

I was happy with the ending, never been a fan of the Sophie storyline, but I do think the writers got it right in the end, except the clapping at the kiss.

Kevin is so thirsty for an epic romance I half expected him to profess his undying love to the concierge.

Could be one of those clues to a full-circle story line that they end up together.

I went back on this thread and found one of my previous posts --- and I just want to say that I WAS RIGHT! And I found the "clue" on Feb. 25th.

What was your clue?

Rebecca called young Kevin and young Sophie's relationship a great love story

Isn’t forgiveness part of love? And if they had to stayed together would his drinking have gotten as bad as it did? Couldn’t work it out together?

Playing devils advocate but is it possible this is a red herring and he ends up with someone else? They’ve already tried twice and third time is not usually the charm. First love and teenage hormones do not make a life time of love.

What? No. She specifically said that SHE needed to be in the right place and the best version of herself too. That was the difference.
