I don't even think that's accurate. I hold my life choices very important but I don't think anyone else needs to live like I do.

Sure, but not everyone goes on TV to broadcast those beliefs. Not everyone is politically active. Not everyone makes statements condemning exactly the thing they are harboring.

The latest Duggar wedding had over 4m viewers. Lena Dunham's show has around 700,000 viewers, with a high of 1.1m last year. Comparatively, she's a nobody.

Not that I know of. Maybe because there weren't any police reports? A memoir is different from a police report. If I recall correctly, she backtracked on several things she wrote in the book, including an account of a rape.

Write HBO if you'd like to get Girls cancelled. I think everyone should let the networks know if they don't like the programming or agree with their support of certain shows.

I agree with this. This happened and was handled long ago. There have been no further incidents since he was 15 years old. Dragging this out was to sell rag magazines that most people would rarely give any credence to.

The tabloid never would have been interested in the Duggars if they hadn't put their family on television. Over and over and over again. And used those television appearances to advocate for their kind of sexual mores and purity. That is why the tabloid is interested, because the Duggars made themselves into public figures by choice.

They agreed to do a special on TLC called 14 kids and pregnant again, or something like that. It's not like they were expecting to get a tv show and become famous. I'm sure if I was one of the duggar haters and I was screaming about how they handled it wrong you'd be treating me differently right now. You don't like it because my experience supports the opinions of others that there different ways that this can be handled, and there isn't just one right way. The duggars did a good job of handling it. Nobody's lives were ruined until now, but even still, not ruined, just dealing with a bunch of assholes who know nothing about them.


I'm very sorry for what happened to you, PP. I was not molested as a child, so I don't have this experience. But from what I've read, there are good and bad ways to handle it, and still, it can help or not help the victims and molester. I don't think the Duggars handled it perfectly, but I don't think they handled it terribly. What I think they did that was terrible was immediately and for years and years afterward living in a reality show, in public. That's what many of the Duggar critics are most critical of.
