Barr really botched this.
This is quite a compelling document. I will be interested to see the Barr/Flynn defenders poke holes in it.

Is Gleeson's filing any surprise, given the opinion he published days before being asked by Sullivan to provide amicus?
Gleeson's filing will get destroyed.

The FBI and our IC go after bad guys. Trump has been laundering Russian money for decades. Flynn was on the turkish and Russian payroll. Manafort worked against US interests and aligned with Russia in Ukraine.
Who are the bad guys? Why are you thinking Trump, Flynn and Manafort are the good guys here? It makes no sense. The career people and law enforcement were doing their jobs - monitoring the bad guys. The problem? The bad guys were dealing with certain Americans, including current and former Trump people. And yet, Fox News has people like you brainwashed to be against our IC and Law Enforcement because they have twisted the facts and contorted legal opinion in such a way that people like you are doing mental pretzels to say this is ok.
It isn't ok. please understand what is happening. Our country is being taken over by people whose allegiance are not to our flag or our country. You can see this manifest from everything including the response to the pandemic, the shifting alliances - what did the US get for pulling out of the TPP or leaving Syria? Nothing. What did Trump get? Money. Money from the Turks, money from the Chinese, money from the Saudi's. All at the expense of the US Treasury and the goodwill of the once great international force that was the United States of America.
We are not better now and we are not going to be great again under this "leadership" - rising unemployment, rising death, cities in mayhem, shrinking GDP...who does this favor? Because it isn't the American people.
I can't help you. If you truly believe everything you wrote, I cannot help you.
You totally ignore the evidence. You totally ignore how these "righteous" agents and prosecutors who were only "monitoring the bad guys" trampled on the civil liberties of anyone they could along the way, manufactured charges and crimes so that they could carry on in what appeared to be a "legal" fashion and try to overthrow a democratically elected administration.
And, it's not just Barr saying this. It was Horowitz. It is Jeff Jensen. It is people who are uncovering egregious conduct on the part of those who were trusted to uphold the law.
I doubt you will ever believe this - even with unequivocal evidence. Which, is coming soon enough.

Given Trump is funded by the same Turks who fund ISIS, this could get interesting.
My prediction - the appeals court will rule against the Feds.
Rafiekian’s case is in an unusual posture. While the defense is almost always the side appealing in a criminal case, prosecutors find themselves seeking the appeals court’s intervention after the district court judge who handled Rafiekian’s trial ordered his acquittal despite the jury finding him guilty on both counts after a few hours of deliberations last July.
Judge Anthony Trenga said the guilty verdicts went against the overwhelming weight of the evidence in the case. During the trial, he repeatedly indicated that he thought the government’s evidence was very weak when it came to showing actual Turkish government control of the lobbying and public relations project Flynn and Rafiekian undertook.
DP. I'm not sure how successful the appeal will be. But this does show that the DOJ motion to withdraw the charges was incomplete. And that mandamus is unripe and improper.
