Morning routine before kids wake and chaos ensues:
-put on face serum **not an advertisement**
-feed cats
-make coffee
-check Jen Hatmaker message board
I love you people. You are so smart, hilarious, and have just the right amount of snark. This is better than my 1997 weekly subscription to US Weekly.

Did the fame do it, or is the fact that they chose to go on a reality show (you couldn't pay me enough, i think most people feel the same) a sign of narcissistic tendencies so that their marriages were already doomed to fail at some point anyway?

I’ve not been fully convinced Jen is a narcissist, though her behavior has shown strong symptomology. Most narcissists experienced neglect and glaring trauma in their childhoods that led to them mastering the art of alternate realities(lying) Jen’s upbringing doesn’t suggest that’s her story. Generally narcissists can’t maintain long term relationships, her friendships last decades, and her family of origin keep her close. Could we be seeing a severely codependent woman having chronic trauma responses surrounded by enablers who haven’t know how to respond to her dysfunction. She feels pressure to drum up the finances as a single mom so she hasn’t taken time to stay silent and truly recover. It’s like there’s a protective personality operating every time she opens her mouth and we all feel the phoniness.
I guess the reason I sought this thread was it all just hasn’t added up and my counselor mind loves to solve hairy messes like this. Call it a gift or a curse I don’t know.

Their youth ministry person just left, probably because there’s no, you know, youth. My kids hated it when we went there.

Everything about it reeks of phoniness and pretension.
The head pastor is so trying to make that dumb hat happen. You won't see any Hatmaker there anymore either. Is he trying to say he likes hat makers or something so his boss will come back?
Music is good though. I'll give them that.
