History repeats itself; especially when the same cast of characters are involved. Trump is gifting Dems easy success in 2026 and 2028 just as he did in 2018 and 2020. If a legitimate two term POTUS emerges through a competitive 2028 Dem primary field, we'll be able to erase the MAGA garbage forever with 8 years of normal leadership in office.
Democrats need to get a coherent, popular legislative agenda and messaging together, NOW. Otherwise they will be disorganized and squander the opportunity like they did in the past.

"That was driven in large part by a decline in approval among Republicans and independents. According to the survey, only about two-thirds of Republicans, 68%, said they approve of Trump’s government management, down from 81% in March. Independents’ approval dropped from 38% to 25%."

It’s a stain on humanity that 36% of people still support him.

They must be brain damaged. I can’t see why anyone would support someone so unfit to lead.
I'd say it's a mix. Some are single issue nutjobs. Some are reactionary nihilists who just want to see the world burn. Some are grifters and cynical rich people who are getting something out of it, when the rest of us are just suffering. And some, I'm sure, are just plain old fashioned morons.
