So the realistic translation for that is maybe 3 actual hours of training, 4 tops per week and 30 - 40 minutes game time on the weekend depending on position
Winter break, Spring Break and all other kids of mini breaks here and there
The top kids at BSC in the 2015-2013 age ranges practice 3x a week, play in some format another 3 days whether it is free play at school, recess, neighborhood, at least 1 private or group training.
During the summers, they are in full day camps which are 6 hours.
This schedule is light and not even close to burnout.
6 hours of playing soccer?
Most full day camps are 9-3. They break up the time so that some time is ball mastery, juggling, etc. They also have lunch, snacks, water breaks, etc.
If you are shocked by this, it is okay. Just don’t expect your kid to remain A team for long.
This is not unique to soccer and applicable to most pursuits in athletics and the arts.
