Next year be ready to hear about it.

MLSN, MLSN 2, MLSN 3 and Pre MLSN.

It would be funny if this happened.

All the littles leagues who currently have all the registrations before u13 will suddently be cut in half. All because they listened to ECNL. If they had done nothing they'd have more money and no extra work.

It wasn’t ECNLs doing per se. The switch to BY last decade wasn’t a sound move and most clubs and parents were wanting to switch back. Those opposed were mostly parents with kids born in Jan-June.

What's done is done. You can't turn back time.

If MLSN chooses to create a "Pre-MLSN" league the number of US Club registered players will go down because MLSN wont use US Club.

Basically the whole BY to SY distraction will only cost US Club money translating to less paying customers overall.

You are really holding on tight aren’t you…

Just because you dont like the facts doesn't make them untrue.

If MLSN moves into the younger ages and stays BY, US Club will lose paying customers.

Ahh yes more parents of 9 year olds want to travel 3 hours to play one game because there can't possibly be good enough competition 20 minutes away.

MLSN loses more. They lose players wanting SY for HS, college recruiting and/or RAE advantage. Of your top players who don’t want to go pro and fit better in the SY cohort , they will go ECNL or whatever replaces ECNL in the future. MLSN won’t do something to close off this market.

Im not going into the mental gymnastics.

If MLSN gets involved with younger age groups US Club losses money. Its that simple.

And those who don't like change/like their current teams.

Cut in half? Mlsnext clubs make up a very small percentage of the total number of clubs at the ulittle ages.

Doesn't matter. Considering how many parents buy into hype and FOMO it just might work.

The percentage doesnt matter. The fact that littles leagues would be doing more work to make less money does.

They should make more money long term, or at least that’s the goal.

Maybe mlsnext will do this. They certainly need to do something, two different age cutoffs within the same club isn’t going to work.

Maybe, but they will be SY age cutoffs. Possible: The badge design for MLSN 3 will be an image of a kid missing the ball… let it sit for a minute.
