Leaving the closed Sondland deposition, Adam Schiff told us of Mulvaney’s comments: “I think Mr Mulvaney’s acknowledgement means that things have gone from very very bad to much much worse.”
He declined to answer further questions including whether he wants to speak to Mulvaney.

Schiff is an idiot. I am sure his source misconstrued or misrepresented Mulvaney's comments. He's still an idiot, though.
I'm sorry, I think you mean Mulvaney is an idiot. He seems to think that by cheerfully and forcefully admitting to corruption and illegal conduct, that no one will care.
He is very, very wrong, and he's in a lot of trouble now.
It seems like a ploy by Trump to get impeachment wrapped up as quickly as possible so Mitch can kill it in the Senate. They are now just openly committing crimes and admitting to them so the House will be forced to impeach.
It's a crazy strategy, but I understand what they are trying to do. An acquittal means Trump takes a victory lap just before the 2020 election, even if 60% of the country hates his guts. He is gleeful to rub it in his non-supporters' faces that he is above the law.
If the Senate acquits Trump of clear crimes, then our Republic is dead.

Try harder.
Mulvaney acknowledged in front of cameras that quid pro quo happened.

So Bolton sent in Fiona Hill, who heard them talking Burisma.

Sondland’s explicit conditioning of a meeting between Zelenskiy and Trump prompted Bolton to direct then-Trump Russia adviser Fiona Hill to report the situation to White House lawyers. Although some details about the meeting had been previously disclosed, this account provides the most extensive chronology to date of the chain of events that led Bolton to call the shadow Ukraine policy aimed at advancing Trump’s political interests “a drug deal,” as NBC News has reported.
Oh wow, imagine a scenario where Bolton is less despicable than someone else. What a time!
Wow. Who would have thunk it?
