My kid played your son's team in that tourney, they didn't look that bad. It's a pretty new team, right? The offense wasn't clicking but that's pretty common in new teams--it takes time. Did most of the players come from the old Cavs team?
It's only 7th grade--there's no harm in staying there for a year and seeing how the trend looks. Generally player development (in my experience with two kids) depends on work put in outside of club practices and games, if you're son is motivated and works hard he can move on to a better team this summer or next.
Totally understand the frustration, just saying not to bail out too quickly, if that's what you're thinking.

Anonymous wrote:2028 VLC dad here. Our team DID look lost this last tournament and am hoping they can turn around this next tournament…. Or you may see some kids looking for new teams in the spring.

Actually you are wrong. They bought them because cavalier has a Trey strong early youth program and VLC had none.
