Because they know it’s obvious they should be moved.
I wouldn’t be surprised if western Great Falls/Forestville ES ends up at Herndon in 10-15 years. If there is growth in Tysons and kids need to be moved from McLean and Marshall to Langley, I could see a scenario where that pushes Langley over capacity and the furthest west school is then pushed out as a result. But we’re not there yet and probably won’t be there in 5 years either. It’s a ways off, but still within the realm of possibility.
It's probably 5-10 years rather than 10-15 years, but it looks like the writing is on the wall.

Meanwhile an FCPS employee (?) said all the unspoken stuff about illegal developer agreements with the county out loud.
I love that this is the truth, but Langley mommy is freaking out about something that isn't even proposed. Let other people speak. Oakton families have questions, too.
Langley mommy sounds like she spent time in a gulag in Siberia and it turned her into a raving lunatic.
DP. Just pointing out that you love throwing “racist” around, but your comment is directly racist.
That was not me.

It was one parent and one community member. Don’t lump the rest of us in with them.
And I thought the person who responded to the Langley parent was spot on - very respectful and noted that all our tax dollars go to FCPS as a whole. I agree that at some point, western Great Falls will need to be rezoned due to the bus situation (I am a Langley parent).
What bus situation? Has something changed in the last twenty years with that transportation that we’re not aware of? Because the only change I’m aware of is expanding the bridge at gtp and 495 to make the commute easier.

No, you can just send your kid to Herndon, and us Langley parents will find private transportation.

I wonder if the Westbriar island sticking out like a sore thumb in the middle school/high school maps is making them nervous. It’s so close to Colvin Run and looks almost the exact shape of the Forestville cutout into Herndon.
Grumble grumble.
DP. That's exactly what the Langley parents did tonight, along with whine whine scream scream and rant rant.

Are you estimating Forestville ES, and Great Falls ES (on the western side) would be moved?
