Some people who have observed him for a long time think he has fronto temporal dementia, which doesn’t present like Alzheimers in the beginning. One of the symptoms is loss of inhibition. He’s been saying inappropriate things for decades, but it’s worse now because he is in one of the most public positions in the world where every spoken or written word is analyzed.
“Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD), especially the behavioral variant (bvFTD), commonly causes a significant loss of inhibitions, leading to socially inappropriate actions, rude comments, impulsivity, and a lack of empathy, because it damages the frontal lobes controlling social conduct and self-control, making individuals act out of character and ignore social norms without intending to. These behavioral changes, including poor judgment, apathy, and compulsive behaviors, often appear before memory issues, unlike Alzheimer's, and stem from nerve cell damage in the brain's frontal and temporal regions.”
