Did Biden ever say this to Republican lawmakers? Biden was the president last year yet Trump is the one who warned the GOP not to think of cutting SS or Medicare for debt ceiling negotiations . Do you know how many times Obama accepted Medicare and SS cuts?

From January 2023

Former President Donald Trump issued a warning to Republican lawmakers on Friday: Don’t lay a finger on entitlement programs as part of the debt ceiling showdown with the White House.

“Under no circumstances should Republicans vote to cut a single penny from Medicare or Social Security,” Trump said in a video message.

+1
And on his ACTUAL platform, he says the same thing:

FIGHT FOR AND PROTECT SOCIAL SECURITY AND MEDICARE WITH NO CUTS, INCLUDING NO CHANGES TO THE RETIREMENT AGE

Strengthen Medicare

Republicans will protect Medicare's finances from being financially crushed by the Democrat plan to add tens of millions of new illegal immigrants to the rolls of Medicare. We vow to strengthen Medicare for future generations.

Affordable Healthcare

Healthcare and prescription drug costs are out of control. Republicans will increase Transparency, promote Choice and Competition, and expand access to new Affordable Healthcare and prescription drug options. We will protect Medicare, and ensure Seniors receive the care they need without being burdened by excessive costs.

Well, the Republicans tried with their bot Nikki Haley who said Americans should work till they die and the primary returned her back to sender

Cool - and nice hyperbole, btw. This thread isn't about Nikki Haley.

Speaking of Nikki, your boy Trump repeatedly confused Nikki Haley with Nancy Pelosi FOUR TIMES in a matter of just a few seconds. And you people think Biden is in cognitive decline? Trump is far worse.

All that wrapped in a heap of delusional J6 lies. Trump isn't fit. And he's not intellectually or cognitively capable of coming up with his own plans and policies, which is why he will be leaning on the Heritage Foundation, just as he did in 2016.

Project 2025 is very similar to the 1933 Nazi Enabling Act, which the SCOTUS has basically
"pre-codified"

Project 2025 is mandating military service for "any student attending a federally funded school"

That means all the public school kids. Do you know who that isn't? All the private school and Christian school kids.

This type of hyperbole and lying is rampant with them.
Did anyone ask Morgan Freeman to provide a citation for his claim? Nope.

That’s not Morgan Freeman, genius.

And that satire might not have gathered steam if the Trump administration hadn’t kept track of the periods of girls they kept in their migrant camps https://www.harpersbazaar.com/culture/politics/a26985261/trump-administration-abortion-period-tracking-migrant-women/ and if forced birthers hadn’t threatened to use period tracking data to prosecute women. https://kffhealthnews.org/news/article/period-tracking-apps-data-privacy/amp/

So you see: the fascism of Project 2025 is very much the policies of the GOP. Period passports is satire, but like all satire it’s based in reality.

You are correct. The claim is untrue and appears to be based on satire. I am a Dem but I want to deal in facts. The facts about Trump are bad enough without having to cite untruthful ones. I try to check on the veracity of claims before I post them and I usually provide a link. Ideally everyone would.

Republicans have wanted to end Medicare and SS, ban abortion and limit contraceptive, and promote religious nationalism “God and country” for years now. It has zero to do with Trump. Trump is not some religious zealot and he is pro choice but you all know that.

He’s a blunt instrument that the religious zealots, the Republicans/Federalist Society, use to force their agenda on our country. Look at just how far they got during his first term. He and his staff (including dozens of former FedSoc members) implemented HUNDREDS of their goals. They did more damage during those four years than the previous few decades.

He is not an instrument. That is the problem . All his problems would go away overnight if he WAS an instrument for Washington .

The man is America first. Deport illegals, let countries and companies PAY America and Americans first. This is a huge problem for the 1% and corporate donors and Washington neocons and neoliberals who are used to power. Trump is a huge change and a wild card because he isn’t really Democrat but he isn’t really Republican if you Listen to what he says . At one point, he was even for single payer /Medicare for All.

Do you know how many face palms probably happened at the Heritage Foundation offices that day? He’s using the bully pulpit as President to get Republicans in line. He finally got them in line about Iraq and now for the first time the majority of Republicans will admit Saddam Hussein wasn’t a threat to the US and WMD were lies . That’s huge. And a big problem for Washington. I bet they blame Trump for why recruitment to the military is down

Right, he’s a blunt instrument. Not sophisticated enough to get the job done smoothly but he helped the far right make more progress in 4 years than in the preceding decades. He’s a useful, dangerous idiot.

He also supported Roe, but appointed a bunch of judges vetted by the Federalist Society who claimed under oath that Roe was "settled law" - ha, no more. Burned and burned again. There is no trust, particularly when the GOP and Project2025 are very specific about cutting "entitlements"

It would be no holds barred RWNJpalooza if he had a second term.

Imagine some random dude from North Dakota in charge of FEMA coastal flood policy for example.

It seems like the this wouldn't be good for America, or Republicans, in the long run.

The point is to destroy the country. Not sure why the GOP is good with it, but at this point, they are boiled frogs.

No - it’s returning sanity to the WH.

At the moment, senile Biden is flooding the country with unskilled illegals looking for handouts, and even progressive dems are admitting it is a crisis.

Trump is not an existential threat to democracy; this is another truth dems are reluctantly admitting.

You live in an alternate reality. Trump is a huge risk to our democracy which becomes increasingly clear with each devastating SCOTUS decision.

That’s RBGs fault not Trump’s.

Trump is one cog in the Christofascist machine.

As was Kennedy, McConnell, etc.

Trump asked the Secretary of Defense to go shot the protesters….maybe just in the legs. Or just crack their skulls.

And the Secretary of Defense didn’t do it. He got fired. Next time I would bet trump gets his way. And Trump has some really anti-democratic tendencies. Tendencies that border on the autocracy, such an admirer of Erdogan and Orban. And don’t forget Trump’s bromance with Putin.

Shooting in the legs is nice compared to actually shooting or choking people dead which cops were actually doing.

Why don’t you mention the Brutish things Biden says like the other team should shoot em straight next time about civilians in a hospital and comparing Israel and Gaza to teams like either tragedy was Major League Baseball . Imagine if Trump made such an unpresidential and callous remark.

Biden also sent ICE to whoop Haitian refugees with whips at the border like something out of slavery but Chinese and Latin refugees were met with welcomes by the VP. This is also something the media would absolutely pounce on Trump about and rightly so if it happened under his watch.
