Well, in a way.
Prices are down because consumption is down. It is down to nearly the levels at the height of the pandemic. Not because people don't have anywhere to go or because they have all bought EVs... but because they cannot afford the prices. That is not good. But, it is Biden's goal. And, the goal of everyone pushing the green new deal. Make prices so prohibitive that they will stop buying gas.

I have limited my driving for sure. As has my spouse. We have definitely changed what we do and where we go. But, it is not sustainable.

I'm glad prices are down, but the reason for the drop in prices is concerning.

Low gas prices are guaranteed by the 29th Amendment.

Comments like this one really concern me--as does the American insistence on low gas prices indefinitely and forever. There is a social cost to being so reliant on cars. Europeans, who pay almost twice (on average) what we pay for gas, have known this for decades and use gas taxes to support and improve public transportation and mitigate the effects of pollution and climate change. Two dollars a gallon for gas is simply not sustainable--or right.
