The 16-24 kids rostered GA have no business being on these teams. Giving these players equal time is detrimental to the entire program. Every GA Tteam lost to one of the worst clubs in the MA conference. Worse than the current TSJ teams and VRSC lost against every team.

You are trying very hard to push this narrative but it’s simply not true. Check TSJ scores from this weekend, where they sit in the standings, and the head to heads against VRSC. Not saying VRSC is killing it but TSJ is clearly doing worse.

PP did not compare VRSC to TSJ, he said every VRSC team just lost to a club that is worse than TSJ. It’s a bit of an overstatement as TSJ is clearly the worst team in the Mid-Atlantic, but the underlying point, which is that VRSC has to be very disappointed in how their teams did last weekend, is spot on.

VRSC’s angle to quickly overcome the region’s talent pool depth problem was supposed to be pulling the vast majority of FCV’s players along with their coaches to make VRSC the new FCV except with fields. However, only 3 of their 6 GA teams are being coached by former FCV GA coaches, and their results thus far seem underwhelming, which suggests they didn’t pull as many FCV players as expected and/or they haven’t adequately backfilled BP. If things don’t turn quickly, VRSC’s GA teams next season may look more like current TSJ than old FCV.

Makes you wonder what kind of favors being done or program caving to parents in their ear. Parents shouldn’t be determining where or if their player plays.

16-18 girls all that is required typically and hold players accountable for their lack of progress or inconsistent play. In any event, spots need to be earned or there’s no competitive instinct. Players look like they’re going through the motions during games and don’t have passion to win. Don’t punish or discourage the committed players with ones who are not.

If you have a deep bench of talent it would be different but you don’t. There are players who probably aren’t even good enough to play second team rostered. Huh?

If you win, you attract top players…not the other way around.

Also, don’t act like your coaches are unequaled because they are not. It’s youth soccer.

There are only so many top players in any age group in the entire DMV, spread across too many ECNL/GA teams, there’s just not enough of your so called “committed” players to fill all these teams.

Then what do you suggest they do? Without taking these players they wouldn’t have enough to field a team. Wouldn’t that be a lot worse for the best players?

Scroll up, there was a substantive discussion about this not long after the event in December. A fair assessment is that they did about as well as the club probably hoped they would do at this point in their GA journey.

That said, this past weekend’s league games must have been a disappointment. All four teams that played (2010 and older) lost, and I don’t see how that overall result could be anything but a disappointment to club leadership.

It’s pretty simple. There aren’t enough kids capable of playing at this level to choose from and they need to fill the roster spots with somebody. Otherwise they don’t have enough players to play games. Where do you suggest finding these magical top level players?

Wow you mean to tell me 2 more fields than Loudoun and a bar isn’t enticing enough to join their “club”? Socker!
