Video shows the beach is some distance from the resort. She was alone and unprotected and visibly impaired.
I don't see anywhere on there that kidnapping wealthy American tourists for sex trafficking is a thing. The whole point of sex trafficking is taking people who no one is going to make a fuss over, or who maybe no one will even notice is missing. An American college student is not that.

Yes that was tragic and happened like 25 years ago in a completely different country. Not relevant.

I doubt that very much.
What else would she do? There is no evidence she came out and lay down on the beach. Unlikely she would wander father down in the beach into the dark. Even drunk, her brain would take her towards the lights. And being crashed into the sand by the waves in the water would have probably sobered her up slightly.

3. Safety Concerns
During our stay, my husband and I experienced a deeply concerning incident after consuming drinks at one of the pool bars. We both became severely disoriented and incapacitated after only two drinks each, leading us to suspect tampering with our beverages. This was not only alarming but left our young daughter frightened as we struggled to care for her. Guest safety should be a top priority, and this experience made us feel anything but secure. Upon arriving home, we reached out to the resort about our concerns and we were met with disbelief. They failed to even ask for the simplest of details of our experience and assured us things were researched and investigated. There couldn’t possibly have been any investigation due to not even asking the time, place or even a description of the bartender who served our drinks.
Let's see, there's
Lobby alcohol
Mini bars
AND
Pool bars?
DR resorts better get their act together or no one is vacationing at their resorts. #boycott.resort.alcohol
