Even though Avery is a short name, you often call her Av affectionally. When you are mad, you yell out her first and middle names. "Avery Emerson! You get down here this instant!" Avery sports a chin length bob and you go out of your way to order non pink/non purple clothes online. You think periwinkle is a great color, not too girlish yet bright and pretty. You and DH are easy going, laid back parents, you are not the parents who say no to things. Avery will never be the one with the earliest curfew and she will get the old family car the minute she gets her license. In your free time, you and DH do races, triathlons, and mudder runs with your friends. Your DH is seriously thinking of doing an Iron Man.

He's a toddler and will be our one and only.

Behr is your miracle baby, you had him after a long struggle with infertility and many miscarriages. Behr is extremely precocious and was an early talker but late walker. He is the only grandchild on at least one side of the family and so is very doted upon. You worry about Behr so much, you have never used a nonfamily babysitter. Behr was a family name from the maternal side. You chose to hyphenate your name. Both of you are working full-time but you are thinking of cutting back your hours/switching to a more family friendly job so you can spend more time with Behr.

I love this story, I wish it was all ours!
Behr is our miracle baby- but for different reasons. Drs told us, while I was pregnant that he'd never walk and had spina bifida. He's been walking for about a year now- and I still get excited each time I see him take a step! He's a determined little bug! He has intense delays and I do worry, tons. Spot on about the only using family sitters. And- I just switched careers and will be working at his preschool next year, although obviously not his teacher. And yup- only grandkid!

Wow, I had some eeriely close guesses. I'm so glad to hear that Behr is doing so much better than what the doctors anticipated. He sounds like he's got a determined personality that will help him in so many ways throughout life. Great that he's walking!!! Having a dedicated mom helping him is going to be such a boon and while you will have some tough times, I think he'll continue to do better than expected. In your post, you sound much like many of the best moms I know--the ones who are realistic about their kids' personal strengths and weaknesses and who work with them to help them achieve their potential. Good luck to you and little Behr.

The kids go to a Catholic school and play mulitiple sports. Ian is more studious and gets great grades. Whereas Luke is better at sports. Much to everyone's surprise, Luke will date before his older brother and you will panic at having to talk about the birds and bees before you are ready. Not to worry, Luke already knows firsthand and is one of the rare boys that are super conscientious about birth control as he is superscared of an oops pregnancy. Despite a long distance relationship during college, Luke will marry his high school sweetheart and her parents will approve. Your DH is an avid weekend golfer and you make excellent pies. You are currently planning a family trip to Italy and hope to coordinate your schedule so that you can see the pope in person.

Haha! pretty damn close.....

You are romantic at heart and are planning a renewal of vows ceremony for your next milestone anniversary. You have regular couple time and have just started taking ballroom dance lessons together. Neither of you is a dancing natural, but you are having fun and that is what counts. You are too embarassed to dance in public but you hope to be proficient enough to show off your skills at your vow renewal. The kids are slightly embarassed at your PDAs but having the two of you as an example will serve them well when they grow up and have relationships of their own.

Awesome. Not in dance lessons, but so much of this (regular couple time, modeling a loving relationship to the kids) is spot on.

You had an agreement with your DH, you got to choose the name if you got a girl, he'd get to choose if you got a boy. You named the children after their grandmothers. You enjoy rom coms and enjoy rereading the Bronte books. Your dream hunk is Colin Furth because of his role as Darcy, and though you dismiss the Twilight series as dreck, you have to agree that Robert Pattinson is cute too. Your hairdresser thinks you should cut your hair shorter as it would be more hip, but you prefer longer hair and your husband does too. Caroline is a sweet tomboy and Abigail will try to dye her hair an unnatural color (likely purple but perhaps green) when she's in her rebellious teens.

Your family are yellow dog Democrats and members of the Sierra Club and Amnesty International. You have several bumper stickers on your car, including an old Obama/Biden one and a Coexist sticker. You have either a multiethnic or multireligion family with Jewish heritage thrown in. People are always discussing whether your girls look more like you or your husband's side. There is no clear cut consensus. You try to buy only organic foods but you have a hidden weakness for Cheetos. Last year, you gifted books of poetry to your family at Christmastime.
