Noticing a pattern here.
What’s changed in Chicago?
GA Added Midwest United ECNL
Grand Rapids is +3hrs away. There’s a big lake in between.
Ha! Funny guy Take a look again at the two clubs and see if one is the parent club. Or maybe see if you can find a website for Midwest United FC - Chicago
Yep no Chicago location
Midwest United ECNL is based in Grand Rapids MI. There is not a Midwest United Chicago branch in ECNL.

If Alexandria gets GA, time for the entire club (boys and girls) to step up and be competitive at the top levels. What a great opportunity. Stick to your principles but level up.
Do we really think Alexandria is getting GA?

I've thought the whole GA/NWSL homegrown rule theory was mostly fantasy, but you're not wrong here.
I don't understand why you'd think homegrown wouldn't happen on the women's side. Every other major league has it. If NWSL doesn't implement other leagues (USL) will and they'll be behind the curve.
MLSN and GA are working together. It's just a matter of time before MLSN attributes happen within GA.
Not that it wouldn't ever happen, just that this loosely declared GA/MLSN alliance was part of any grand strategy.
FWIW, I also don't think that ECNL is the be-all, end-all for girls for long.
Basically, I'm cynical about everything, especially the youth soccer complex.
Follow the money that's all that matters.
