Late last night I read that a marine sonar expert had discounted the sounds as likely just coming from Titanic, which is actively disintegrating and pieces are constantly falling off and banging into other parts of the wreckage. The Coast Guard indicated there was no SOS in the sounds and no precision of timing either.

These guys were dead before their surface crew ever called for help.

They found debris near the Titanic. All 5 dead. RIP.

Don’t forget the movie, perhaps by James Cameron, that’s what’s next.


I can’t imagine any company covering this expedition with insurance.

We care about billionaires dying in idiotic ways not the thousands who die every day from hunger and treatable diseases. Anyone who disagrees, look at cnn.com or nytimes.com and compare the coverage of these ‘explorers’ to Sudanese suffering from civil war

Just because one tragedy is more news-worthy than another does not mean we care more about one victim than the other. I may be more interested in this story than the civil war in Sudan, but when it comes to choosing between making donations to charities for hungry Sudanese or financing bored billionaire explorers' expeditions, I choose to dante to the Sudanese.

I feel bad for them, I bet they didn’t know the risks. I sign “death” waivers every time my kids go to a sky zone party. Maybe they were inured to signing waivers and thought it was a reputable company.
