If you think the minuscule tax increase was going to be the last you're sadly mistaken.

All people need to know to understand that it’s a bad idea is that Anthony Williams is against it.

I guess the premise is that they hope people won’t notice if they apply the boiling frog approach to raising taxes.

I’ve been spending time downtown for the past months working out of my office and I don’t think people understand how bad the fiscal situation is going to be for DC in 2022 when the stimulus funds dry up. Probably 50-60% of the storefront restaurant and retail space is shuttered and the businesses, some long standing institutions, are permanently closed. Recovery back to the 2019 economy is going to take a lot longer than people think.

I think some of that is Covid, some of that is the destructive riots, some of that is crime. That's what downtown looked like pre-Williams, ironically. What a pity.

As the PP, you’re telling on yourself by referencing the BLM protests as “riots”. Businesses downtown are just closed and vacant and it’s 100% covid and 0% anything else.

DP. Are you trying to deny that there were riots? They definitely weren’t as destructive in DC as elsewhere, but they did happen.

There were no riots in DC or anything even approaching a riot.

Total and complete lie. You are no doubt someone who has no stake in the city - owns no property, has no kids, no connections.
DC has become a dump because of the shit show that is Bowser and her dumber the dirt cronies.

Evidence?

This is the other side of the Trump deniers. And you are just as bad.

+1. Sadly both sides have blind loyalists who are indifferent to facts.

So where and when were the “riots” exactly?

Do your own research, PP. It’s not my job to correct your ignorance. Usually, when I’m ignorant about something, I try to educate myself.

Yawn. Ya’ll are crazy. Making wild claims and cannot provide anything to even remotely substantiate it.

Establishments were broken into, fires were started, and stores were raided by lawless mobs. What do you like to call that?

Yeah I won’t be dining out if that crew starts up again, since I don’t take commands from mobs. I feel like most people who have lived here for a while realize that, unless it’s a serious violent crime, the police aren’t going to help you.
