I didn’t say they were all SAC. Just some of the top notch players on that team. At least four of their starters are SAC. Their striker is nobody I have seen in VA or DC or from Maryland. He looks like he is about 6’ tall with a ton of skill.

On top of the SAC players there were some Achilles and Paragon players, not sure about the rest. It seems like this team doesn’t really play leagues in the regular season, just makes all-star guest teams for tournaments. I could be wrong. But, for a group of kids who normally don’t play together to win the top division at Supercopa is impressive for sure.

Obviously you do not understand that is not tackle football. Height has very little or nothing to do with the ability to be physical.

And muscle mass? Bone density? Type 1 and type 2 muscle ratios? It’s not just height, though height can help.

Such an ass. That coach you're making fun of had his own local soccer journey which likely went far longer than yours did, and likely farther than many of the coaches in the area. He's had a successful career off the field, which has allowed him to personally fund much of the training and opportunities for many of the kids playing on that team. Perhaps there are things about his style you disagree with or don't like, but attacking his background and ethnicity is uncalled for and inappropriate.

A lot of the kids and parents on top teams know each other, even at this age. And coaches see and note other players (yes, even at this age). A lot of them end up congregating at clubs like pipeline, Bethesda and SAC by U11s or U12s. And yes, of course Bethesda does this.

This brings back such memories. Years and years ago, my son’s U8 or U9 team was playing against a BSC team that sounds similar to the current U9s. DS’s team got destroyed. Afterward, the BSC coach approached our son and asked who his parents were. He then told DH and DS that DS had a lot of potential, but without careful coaching and skill training, would end up relying on his athleticism and aggression and would never fully develop. He offered to let DS train with his team for free, and DS did so and guested with that team for a year or so before joining BSC. We will forever be grateful that a kind stranger intervened to help a kid with clueless soccer parents.

And yes, then as now, ambitious coaches seem to know the top kids in the area, and the kids know each other. It’s funny how there are these intense rivalries at the little kid ages, and at older ages a lot of the kids will end up on the same team or become social media friends. Even though there is a lot of insanity on this thread, I bet a lot of parents here will look back with fondness on teams that they disparaged when they were new to the world of competitive sports, and be nostalgic for how simple sports and life were for their kid at that age. At least I hope so.
