Sure they graduated a ton of talented 2021s - like 18, 13 of whom were committed (many who played, but did not start, again that's the result of their depth). What people don't seem to realize is the depth of Prep's squad and the large number of lax players they have every year. Both the 2023s and 2024s have about 20 club lacrosse players per class, many of whom will be recruited and play in college. Some schools have about 20 kids on their team total (and most of them won't play in college). Prep has four 2023s who are ranked in the top 50 nationally (that's significantly more than any other team in DMV), they also have tons of other highly talented and motivated boys who will also be recruited and play their hearts out this spring.
Gee thanks, Prep Dad.
You forgot to mention about half of the players on their roster should be in the grade ahead.
Its borderline embarrassing how old some of your current 2023's
Lastly, lacrosse is not like football where you need vast amounts of depth. The game is a lot less physical than it used to be. Case and point, look how small McDonogh's roster is year in and year out, and they are always in the think of things. Bullis has a relatively small roster given its a co-ed school and they have been winning banners for several years in the IAC.
Ain’t no whiner like a holdback whiner cause a holdback whiner don’t stop.
It's only whining if it ain't true...but hey...you do you...and those funny looks you get when you graduate at 19...
Multiple things can be true at once:
- holdbacks happen
- you are whining about it
Good...I'm glad you agree with how embarrassing re the age of your 23's and I will then agree that I am whining about it...settled...enjoy your spritzer at Columbia tonight?
Anonymous wrote:Sorry, different poster, but are people really whining and crying about boys who are a few months older??? Seriously??? Get a life. Most of the boys in the top 20 are summer birthdays (and a few are spring). With a September cut off, that puts them at 1-3 months (or even 6 mos) older than appropriate for the grade. It’s a few months, not years. You all need to get a life and find something else to do with your time. And this is coming from someone who has an age appropriate 2023. 🙄
